Abstract
The objective was to analyze the economic viability of the bean Representative Production Units (RPU) in the state of Zacatecas, through the technique of producer panels, to generate information that serves as a basis and support for the design of agricultural policies. The ZAFR100, ZAFR50 and ZAFR20 RPUs were modelled, which used production technologies that are common in the region. The information gathered corresponded to the 2013 agricultural cycle. The technique allowed calculating the economic, financial and net flow costs for cash or reimbursements. Estimated costs indicated that they would be decapitalized in the ZAFR100 and ZAFR50 production units, in the long term, so they are not viable economically, while the liquidity of URPZAFR20 would be guaranteed in the short and medium term, and it has financial and
economic viability, as well as remunerating the risk assumed by the producer in bean production. The production factors that are used in URPZAFR100 and URPZAFR50 have more profitable alternatives of use, although in the long term they tend to disappear if they do not modify the current production techniques.
