Abstract

The study of phenology in the mango crop (Mangifera indica L.) is important to understand the influence of climate on its growth, flowering and fructification, and with it the establishment of practices to increase its productivity. A characterization was performed to adjust the universal BBCH scale (Biologische Bundesantalt, Bundessortenamt and Chemische Industrie) to the series of images of the phenophases of the flowering of the mango cultivar Ataulfo from El Soconusco, Chiapas, observed and described in the field through the Alphanumerical scale for phases, Ei. According to the universal scale, an acceptable descriptive adjustment of the floral phenology was confirmed, with regard to its inflorescence and full flowering, which allowed expanding the Alphanumerical scale per phases, Ei, in this cultivar which
contributes to describing the behavior of this phenomenon.
