Abstract

Methodology: A semi-structured survey was applied to 50 Persian lemon producers, using a targeted show. For this study, a logistic regression was carried out: logit model, through measuring binary dependent variables or dummy, where the dependent variable takes values of "0 and 1"

Results: The Persian lemon producers in the municipality Martínez de la Torre are mostly male with an average age of 54 years, the type of property is ejidal and they have been producing lemon for 15 to 30 years, the knowledge used for production are periods of rain and soil fertility. In addition, for the most part they use non-tolerant patterns. With respect to the econometric result, variables of greater significance were obtained, which relate to the dependent variable.

Implications of the study: Offers elements for the production of Persian lemon.

Conclusions: Finally, there is little involvement of women in agricultural work. As for the application of fertilizers and the use of agricultural techniques such as pruning, the use of optimal doses of fertilization greatly and less influences production performance.
