Abstract
The objective of this paper is to review some factors that affect the welfare of sheep. However, it is necessary to know the behavioral characteristics of these animals, (social organization, sensory capacity, and cognition), in order to achieve good animal welfare levels, without compromising their productivity. In addition, it is necessary to assess sheep welfare, being necessary to know the protocols that are currently used for its evaluation.
