Abstract
Aims: Explain the importance and key elements that determine the viability and relevance of a community program in the rural sector and propose a guide for its design, implementation and evaluation.
Methodology: Based on an analysis of models and extension tools, the PROCOR guide is proposed.
Results: The PROCOR guide is a theoretical-methodological tool of logical steps to follow for the design, implementation and evaluation of community programs in rural areas, emphasizing the evaluation of its impact in five possible strata: technological, innovation, socio-economic, educational and research.
Limitations of the study: PROCOR is a guide that guides the action and that requires the selection of specific and appropriate techniques that allow the success of the program.
Conclusions: he essence of a community program must be understood, there must be a team of interdisciplinary focus and the use of guides such as PROCOR to develop and operate community programs appropriate to a real context in rural areas.
