Abstract
This study evaluated the effect of the addition of La (0, 10, 20 and 30 uM) from two sources [La(NO3)3 6H2O and LaCl3] in the Steiner nutrient solution at 50%, in phenology [beginning of flowering (IF), floral opening (AF), full flowering (PF) and initiation of senescence (IS)], and in the duration of flower stems in pot (pot life (VM)] of two commercial varieties of lisianthus (varieties Mariachi Blue and Echo Lavanda). In both varieties, the treatment with La, regardless of the source used, delays the IF, the AF, the PF and the IS. This delay can be important considering aspects related to the market. Likewise, it was observed that the low concentration of La evaluated (10 uM) significantly increased the life of the flower in pot in the two varieties of lisianthus. These results allow us to conclude that it is an element that has beneficial effects in lisianthus, and that the observed effects are dependent on its concentration.
