Abstract

A proposal is presented to analyze the tourism potential of wild orchids (Orchidaceae) through an Interpretive trails as a strategy for sustainable forest development. It was found that in the cloud florest of Huatusco, Veracruz, México, there are important resources such as orchids, to develop a highly differentiated offer of nature tourism. It is concluded that identification, organization, training and promotion around wild orchids as tourism capital, carried out with professional and responsible sense, can be a tool for the conservation of natural resources and the generation of complementary financial income, as long as the social actors who usually exploit and trade wild orchids are involved
