Abstract

Objective: To characterize dairy producers in order to understand their socioeconomic structure, current condition, and their production methods.

Design/methodology/approach: A mixed qualitative-quantitative type of research was used, in addition to applying a survey to 32 milk producers using the registry of ejidatarios of Coatlinchán as a base.

Results: Some organizational problems of dairy producers were identified, in addition to the general conditions in their production method.

Limitations of the study/implications: It is necessary to identify internal-external factors such as urban growth that are generating a conditioning factor in tertiary activities such as agriculture and livestock.

Findings/conclusions: The lack of government support for training and technical advice, the abandonment of the organizational forms of producers has not worked, so there are limitations to enhance their activity and produce products derived from milk and improve their economic income.
